For those that don’t know, Movable Type is a blogging tool that you can use on your own server. It has a very large user base and is quite popular. There are already stacks of “Install Guides” around, however if you’re impatient here’s the one and only, “Install Movable Type in 60 seconds!”
(this worked on version 2.x, use at your own risk)
edit mt.cfg
/path
/path/db
upload complete dir
create db dir (777)
755 all cgi
(if cgi must be in /cgi-bin you must separate)
run mt-check.cgi
run mt-load.cgi
delete mt-load
run mt.cgi
Username: Melody
Password: Nelson
Edit Profile to change default login/password
All done, now go and blog!
